Mae Jewell Hammac, age 82, a resident of Semmes, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Mae Jewell was a member of Moffett Road Assembly of God (Refuge Church) and a bus driver for Semmes School and Mary G. Montgomery High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Millard F. “Spookie” Hammac; parents Clarence P. Howell, Muriel McDuffie Howell, and Viola McDuffie Howell; brother, Darrell Howell; daughter, Maureen Hammac Culp.
She is survived by her children, Grady Lee (Missy) Hammac of Semmes, AL and Connie (Kevin) Murphy of Dadeville, AL; grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Sumlin, Jr. of Elberta, AL; Sam (Heather) Sumlin of Gulf Shores, AL, Rick Culp of Semmes, AL, Morgan (Anthony) Childers of Spanish Fort, AL, Harrison (Libby) Culp of Semmes, AL, and Madison (Kyle) Currier of Mobile, AL; nieces and nephews; many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Refuge Church from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Jenkins and Rev. Jimmy McDuffie. Active pall bearers will be Michael Sumlin, Jr., Sam Sumlin, Harrison Culp, Anthony Childers, Kyle Currier, and Kevin Murphy. Interment will follow in Allentown Cemetery in Semmes, Alabama.
