Lynda Lucille Blackwell, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devout Christian, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023. She was born on January 29, 1947, at Battle’s Wharf, Alabama, the beloved daughter of Albert (Ab) and Ruth Nelson. Lynda was the sixth of nine children, and her upbringing in a large family instilled in her the values of love, compassion, and unity. Growing up in Magnolia Springs, she developed a deep love for her community. Lynda’s journey through life was enriched by the joys of motherhood. She was blessed with two loving sons, Luke and David, and a cherished daughter, LaDonna. As a mother, she provided unwavering love, support, and guidance, instilling in her children a sense of purpose and the importance of family values. Her legacy lives on through her children a sense of purpose and the importance of family values. Her legacy lives on through her children who will forever be grateful for her influence in their lives. Lynda found immense joy and fulfillment in her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren were the culmination of her love and a testament to the impact she had on their lives. Lynda treasured every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, playfulness, and unconditional love. Throughout her life, Lynda found solace and strength in her faith. A profound Christian woman, she lived out her beliefs through acts of kindness and compassion towards others. Her love for Jesus Christ radiated through her interactions with loved ones and member of her community. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Lynda is survived by two sisters and one brother. Their bond of love and support exemplified the strength of their shared experiences and will continue to nourish their hearts in the years to come. Lynda had a deep passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide an took immense pride in cheering for beloved team. She delighted in the camaraderie that came from being an avid fan, joining fellow supporters in celebrating the victories and weathering the defeats. Lynda Lucille Blackwell will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted Christian, and loyal Crimson Tide fan. Her departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will forever remain the source of inspiration and comfort. A memorial service to honor Lynda’s life will be held on November 18, 2023, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to the American Heart Association, in tribute to Lynda’s unwavering faith and loving spirit.
