Lula "Mart" Wood

Lula “Mart” Martin Wood, age 91, a resident of Montrose, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. She was an honorary member of the Montrose Historic Preservation Society and Montrose Garden Club. The family would like to thank Amy Patton and Georgia Brown with Community Hospice, along with her amazing caregivers, Audrey Moore, Audre Burress, and Mary Draine. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Martin Wood, her daughter, Ann Wood Bowling and a sister, Mary Van Walterop. She is survived by her sister, Ann Bene Donald of Mobile; nieces, Mary Ann Terrell (Conan) of Point Clear, AL, Gretchen Van Walterop of Sanibel Island, FL, Katrina Van Walterop (Dan Ijams) of Modesto, CA and Gretel Neumann (Sage) of Modesto, CA; nephew, Walne Donald (Melissa) of Mobile, AL; along with many devoted friends and neighbors. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Montrose Cemetery.
