Lorraine Logan Pate, A native of Birmingham, AL and a resident of Fairhope, AL, died Monday, November 18, 2019. She cared for her family as a homemaker, and enjoyed being active in her community in Fairhope, AL. While previously living in Thomasville, AL, she was a member of the Worthwhile Club and the Thomasville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James Pate, her son, Jimmy Pate, and her brother, Edward Steiner. Survivors include her daughter, Angie Wise (Mark) of Thomasville, AL; her son, Charlie Pate (Bonnie) of Fairhope, AL; five grandchildren, Kassady Gibson (David) of Birmingham, AL, Shelley Moreland (Trey) of Birmingham, AL, Logan Taylor (Codi) of Daphne, AL, Sam Wise of Eufaula, AL, and Wesley Pate of Spanish Fort, AL; five great-grandchildren, Ree and Ali Gibson, Gaines and Mary Claire Moreland, and Charlotte Taylor; and her loyal companion “Lulu”, in addition to other relatives and many friends. Lorraine, affectionately known as Nana or Rainie, graced the people and places in her life. Her abiding determination, wit, enthusiasm, and generosity of spirit were her hallmarks; attributes which provoked laughter and sparkle. Her obvious love of people and life was abundant, expressed fully in her bold personality. Lorraine was a lady who loved her family fiercely, each in their own way. Her faith in God, grit, drive, and “I can do it” attitude allowed her to persevere through challenges. This positive outlook on life will live on in those she loved so dearly. She did it her way and her family is forever grateful. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, with Pastor Randy White officiating.
