"It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35
Lori Smith Platt Seale was a long-time resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama. She was born January 31, 1959, in New Orleans, La. She departed from this earth peacefully in her sleep on April 4, 2025, at the age of 66.
She graduated from Julius T. Wright in 1977. She then graduated from Mary Baldwin College in 1981. She pursued a brief career in hospitality as a Corporate Sales Manager for Days Inn, where she worked until she decided to start her family.
She then dedicated her life to raising her two beloved children and volunteer work. Most notably, she was a former President of the Art Patrons League in Mobile, AL, and was the inaugural PTA President at Rockwell Elementary in Spanish Fort, AL. She was an Owner Partner at Mobile Greyhound Park.
Lori truly knew that it was better to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds & helping others brought her great joy. If you knew her personally, it’s likely that her generosity had a profound impact on your life in some way. She had the most vibrant smile and a fun-loving personality. No one knew how to live life to the fullest quite like Lori did. She had more adventures in one lifetime than most do in ten. Her laughter was infectious, and she always tried to find the humor in any situation.
Lori never met a stranger. She commanded every room she entered with her poise, grace, & impeccable style.
She enjoyed trips to the beach (her “happy place”), reading, traveling, boating, fishing, music, singing, writing, and decorating. Her two very favorite things were being “Bella” to her seven grandchildren and attending or watching Alabama Football games.
