Loi Tran

d. July 8, 2021

Mr. LOI TRAN ,age 84, of Fairhope, Alabama , passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Born in Vietnam, Mr. Loi met and married his wife Le and together they have eight wonderful children. Mr. Loi was a Christian, a soldier, a husband, a father, and as traditional fathers go, he was strong-willed, strong-minded, and a stronghold for his family. He also had a strong sense of humor. A determined father, he always wanted to be sure he got his point across, especially in life's teachings. And as tough as he was, he had a tender side, a gentle soul which lay deep behind those eyes - eyes that had seen a lot in his youth. A military intelligence officer with the South Vietnamese Armed Forces, Mr. Loi had to flee his home at the end of the Vietnam War, took his wife and their eight children, and journeyed across the world to America in 1975. By the grace of God, guidance of Mother Mary and the help of their sponsor, Deacon Duncan Turnbull family, they settled in Fairhope, Alabama. A self-taught chef, he is remembered for his love of cooking, his corny sense of humor, and his devotion to provide for his family no matter the sacrifice. Most importantly, he is remembered for living a simple life, loving the Lord and our Blessed Mother, and being a devout Catholic. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his beloved wife of more than 60 years; sons James Bond Tran (Dee), Lordstone Tran (Tuyet "Trish"), Ace Tran (Tammy), Tom Rockwell Tran (Lisa), Francois Elexus Tran (Kerry); daughters Anh Tran Kangsumrith (Tee), Anhdria Tran Paschoud (Christian), Loan Tran; and 16 remarkable grandchildren, Cilla, John Loi, Lina, Michael, Matthew Le, Mimi, Madeleine, Bell, Lauren Audrey, Ana Grace, Piercy, Gabrielle, Andrew, Walker, Eli, and Aidan. God has blessed Mr. Loi's family in so many ways, for so many years, with so many friends. Private service will be held.
