Lisette "Lissy" Berrios

d. December 28, 2020

Lisette “Lissy” Berrios passed away on December 28th, surrounded by her loved ones, in the comfort of her sister's Betsy (Javo) home. She was born to Antonia Rivera and Ismael Berrios in May 8th, 1968 in Manhattan, New York. Lissy obtain her bachelor’s degree in Biology and then her medical technologist degrees at Universidad Católica located in Ponce, Puerto Rico. After starting her professional career in Puerto Rico, she decided to make a change and continued her career in Florida. She was always sweet, friendly and joyful. Her catholic faith was her rock. Even in her most difficult moments, if she was asked how she was doing she would respond: "I can only give thanks for this life." Her positive attitude, and ability to make up words all the time, made her very popular. She loved her family and friends with intensity and devotion; her home was filled with pictures of all her loved ones. She enjoyed Puerto Rican cuisine immensely, but she loved Mexican and Italian cuisine as well. For Lisette, any excuse to break into song was valid. She was a woman of faith, a happy soul and, above all, very grateful with life and it’s blessings. She is survived by her mother, Antonia, her siblings Betsy, Katy, Bonnie and Hildita, her “pollos and chuletas” José, Javi, Juliana and María as well as a number of nephews and nieces. The family is very grateful to her very special friends that always loved and care about her; Betsy Janet, Joe, Maritza and Ana Maria, among many others. A Celebration of Life Event will be planned and communicated at a future date. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the American Cancer Society or any food bank to honor her memory.
