Linda K. Hongoltz

Linda Hongoltz, a resident of Crete, IL., passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 77.

Linda was born in Mobile Al, and made her journey to Chicago IL when she was just 4 years old. She attended Catholic Schools in Chicago and started work in administrative/secretarial positions post-graduation. She married in 1973 and moved to the South Suburbs of Chicago where she raised her family. Her true legacy was her huge heart, sweet disposition, and always warm & welcoming. Linda was an animal lover with her cats forever having a sweet spot in her heart and thoroughly enjoyed caring for her cozy home which she took great pride in. She had a great sense of humor and was an amazing friend, neighbor, mother, grandmother, wife, in law, employee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Warner Hongoltz (passed in 23); father, Joseph Ralph Bertagnolli; and mother, Katherine Evelyn Bertagnolli.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Murphy; grandson, Braydon Scott Murphy; grandaughter, Ariel Morgan Murphy; all from Aurora, IL; brothers, Joseph Ralph Bertagnolli Jr., Larry Bertagnolli (wife Jeanie) (KY); brother-in-law, Martin Bass (IL) and many good friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Belforest Catholic Cemetery at 2:00pm.
