Linda Stevens Godard September 5, 1942 - December 3, 2023 Linda Stevens Godard, a resident of Bon Secour, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 3rd• 2023. She had been challenged by an infection in recent weeks and had fought valiantly to overcome health issues in recent years. Linn was born September 5th, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Corrine and Wiley Stevens. She spent her early years in Louisiana and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and went on to live in California and abroad, including 10 years in Saudi Arabia. She traveled extensively, visiting 32 countries in all. She enjoyed experiencing various cultures but she remained true to her south Louisiana roots, always sharing her love for seafood, Mardi Gras and "passing a good time." After settling in Gulf Shores, Linn's bright eyes, beautiful smile and quick wit were a gift to the many new friends she made and all those she met while working at Jubilee Gifts, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Welcome Centers and Southern Alabama Insurance. Linn loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She was also known for her love of flowers, gardening talent, creative crafting skills and for a fierce love for "her people." She will be missed by those people and by so many who called her a friend. Linn was preceded in death by her parents and her son Daniel Rogers. She is survived by her significant other of many years, Greg Duvall; stepson Richard (Ana) Godard and stepdaughters Karen (Mike) Austin, Diane (Shelly Small) Godard, Susan (George) Shelton and Carol Godard, all of California; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 19th at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama.
