With heavy hearts, we say our earthly goodbyes to Kay Snow Owen (KK). Kay was born on a snowy January day in Birmingham, AL to Thomas H. and Ethel Snow.
Kay attended Jones Valley High School where she was a cheerleader. Kay married her childhood crush, Jim Owen, 53 years ago on February 2, 1968. KK and Jim bounced around the country living in Birmingham, Philly, Toledo, Houston, Boca Raton, and Roswell before finally planting their roots in Fairhope, AL.
KK owned the shop, A Place Remembered, in downtown Fairhope for years. She was a late, but great, golfer. KK was famous for her love of Auburn, biscuits and gumbo. Her greatest gift to all was her love. She was our best friend and favorite aunt. Everyone deserves a KK in their lives. May her light shine through us all until we meet again. We love you KK, WDE.
She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas H. and Ethel Snow; brothers, Erskine and Charles Snow.
Kay is survived by her husband of 53 years, James P. Owen, Jr. of Fairhope; daughter, Ashley Ondresky (Jeremy) of Neenah; son, James P. Owen, III (Kelly) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Morgan Ondresky, Owen Ondresky, James Owen, Jack Owen, Joe Owen and John Owen; brother, Ronald H. Snow (Nan) of Fairhope; and a multitude of nieces and nephews who were dearly loved by their favorite aunt.
A celebration of KK’s life will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Lakewood Golf Club, Hole # 10 on the Dogwood Course, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m.
