Katherine Poer

Katherine Cleveland Poer, age 83, native of Birmingham and a longtime resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Gulf Shores. Katherine was a 30 year member of Lagoon Baptist Church and a member of the Retired Nurses and the South Alabama Senior Travelers. She retired as an RN from Princeton Hospital, Birmingham with 20 years of service. After retirement from Princeton, she worked an additional 10 years at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. She is survived by a daughter, Carol McNeff (David) Tompkins of Foley;  two sons, Stephen L. (Anita) Poer of Highland Lake,  Daniel E. (Sheila) Poer of Gulf Shores;  eight grandchildren, Clayton M. Trimble, Katherine A. (Kevin) Kimball, Ryan J. McNeff, Stephen L. Poer, Jr., Adam W. Poer, Kevin (Sherry) Hall, Stephanie (Mike) Poulton, Falon (Craig) Jackson; ten great grandchildren, Honor Kimball,  Anders Kimball, Whitson Kimball, Amelia Poulton, Chloe Poulton, Kennedy Jackson, Noah Jackson, Breanna Hall, Alli Hall, Ericka Hall;  brother, William A. Cleveland Funeral services will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lagoon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
