Julie C. Ford, a resident of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at the age of 81. Julie was born to Morris and Frances (Smith) Proctor on September 26, 1938 in Libertyville IL. She married Russell W. Ford at the All Souls Chapel in Waukegan, IL on July 28, 1956. After surviving polio during her high school days, she met the love of her life, Russell, at a therapeutic pool. The poolside romance blossomed into a wonderful marriage and the family she loved so much. And that family continues to grow today in her memory. Julie never met a person she didn’t instantly consider a friend. She loved to be with people and enjoyed life to its fullest. Throughout her life, she gave so much of herself through her commitment to Cursillo, Kairos Prison Ministry, Hospice and other volunteer work. She also enjoyed singing in her church choir at St. Paul’s Episcopal’s Church as well as the Westminster Village Choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister, Mary (Proctor) DeRoche. She is survived by one brother, Robert (Ann) Proctor of IL; her son, Michael W. (Ann) Ford of Edwards, IL; daughter, Mary C. (Cleveland) Wagstaff of Clarksville, VA and grandchildren Brandon (Kelly) Ford of Washington, IL; Christopher Meacham of, Seattle, WA; Jonathan (Katie) Meacham of Syracuse, NY; Brad Reeser of East Peoria, IL; and Justin (Molly) Reeser of Germantown Hills, IL. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A private family graveside will be held in Fairhope, AL and a Celebration of Mrs. Ford’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations are made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
