Julia Russell Jolly

Julia Kay Russell Jolly, 77, of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, suddenly passed away on February 29, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 14755 Oak St, Magnolia Springs, AL 36555, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Visitation will take place from 2-3 p.m.

Julia was born on January 30, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama. Julia grew up in Warrior, Alabama, and was a 1967 graduate of Warrior High School. Julia along with her husband, Jerry, lived in Gardendale and Gadsden before moving to Fairhope where they have resided for the last 17 years together. 

Julia was a talented interior decorator who loved to shop and find treasures from local artists. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and spent many afternoons teaching and playing with her friends. Julia will always be remembered for her unwavering kindness and generosity. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends, sporting her favorite red lipstick, and dancing the night away to “Here For A Good Time” by her favorite artist, George Strait. 

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Ray Russell and Wilma Armstrong Russell. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry McCurry Jolly; her son, Jarrod Russell Jolly; her grandchildren, Jordan Lowe Jolly, Katelyn Jade Jolly, and Kimberly Lauren Jolly; and her dog, Zoe. 

There was no better partner, mother, grandmother, or friend than Julia. She will be dearly missed every day and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
