Judy S. Barber was born on August 25, 1949 and passed away gracefully on August 27, 2021. Judy was known as a hardworking woman all of her life. She mastered quite a few things during her time on Earth and one of those was to cook for any and everybody. Judy worked in the cafeteria at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for many years. She also worked in the kitchen at a few restaurants located on the island years ago. Judy worked alongside her husband at the sea lab and also for the Alabama Marine Resources Department.
Mrs. Barber was a very selfless, caring woman who loved every individual around her. Her family was her everything plus more. Random gift giving and visits was just a “Judy” thing to do, especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. If she weren’t running the roads with one of her sisters, or casino hopping with her late friend, Gayle Previto, she was on the porch hanging out with her three cats, Red, Siamy and Snowball. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Ray Barber, brother Danny Smith and parents Margaret and Terril Smith.
She is survived by the following, along with seven great grandchildren and loving friends and family.
