Joyce Irene Freeman, age 85, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She accepted Jesus at the age of 13 and she witnessed to many others about Jesus’ mercy and grace.
Her life verse was Matthew 4:4, But He answered and said it is written that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Joyce loved to teach and taught K5 for 34 years. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved to cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Woody Blair; parents, Julius and Ruby Cooper; sister, Julia Scott; brothers, Glen Cooper, Curtis Cooper; daughter-in-law, Kathy Goodwin.
She is survived by husband of 49 years, Glen Freeman, Spanish Fort, AL; sons, Randy (Denise) Goodwin, San Marcos, TX, Rev. Michael (Marilyn) Goodwin, Campbellsville, KY; daughter-in-law, Teresa Blair, Spanish Fort, AL; sisters, Shirley (Cecil) Tolbert, Spanish Fort, AL, Mary (Don) White, Spanish Fort, AL; brothers, Percy Cooper, Spanish Fort, AL, Gary (Ann) Cooper, Rabun, AL, Larry Cooper, Spanish Fort, AL, Julius (Karen) Cooper, Foley, AL; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2023 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Chapel, Daphne.
Interment will follow in Holly Hills Cemetery, Stapleton.
