Joseph Lamar McClusky

Joseph L. McClusky, age 89, a lifelong resident of Gulf Shores and Foley, AL, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. Mr. McClusky is survived by his wife, Bettye Jo McClusky; daughters Becky (William) Green and their children, Blakely and Will; Amy L. Earnest and her children, Riley and Connor; Kelly M. Brannen and her daughter, Maddie; grandsons Joshua (Cory) Roberts; Jake (Shelby) Roberts; and Jarrod Roberts; sisters Audrey Peed and Holly Hancock, and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. McClusky is preceded in death by his daughter, Alisa McClusky Roberts; four brothers, Bob McClusky, Conrad “Shot” McClusky, Don McClusky, and Bernard McClusky; and one sister, Constance “Tiny” Wetter. Mr. McClusky was a long-time member of the Gulf Shores Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for over 30 years. For over 40 years, he worked as a realtor and was the chief of the Gulf Shores Fire Department. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Helena. Following a private graveside service, a public celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Joseph L. McClusky Fire Station One in Gulf Shores.
