Joseph Lee Scrimpshire passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, with his family nearby.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In retirement, he was often found doing the things he loved like fishing, hunting, and golf. Joe would often be found in his woodworking shop making things cherished now by family and friends. He was a life-long Alabama fan and loved attending games and traveled to national championships. Joe was known as kind and fun-loving with a sarcastic sense of humor. His family refers to his famous one-liners as "joe-isms". He was a highly respected project manager in the refinery industry with careers at Brown & Root, Chevron, and Performance Contractors.
Born July 20, 1953, he was a native of Chickasaw, AL and resident of Daphne, AL. Joe was the son of Mary Frances and Ira Junior Scrimpshire of Chickasaw, AL.
He was preceded in death by his sister Linda Diane. He is survived by his wife, Jack Marie; children Jennifer Lee (Neal Andrew Faught) and Kevin Reed Scrimpshire (Holly Wallace) and their children Wallace Reed, Quinley Jo, and Holden Ira; brother Michael Wayne Scrimpshire and nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home's Daphne Chapel, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service time.
