Joseph "Joe" Scott

Joseph William Scott (Joe), a longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the age of 69. Joe had fought a long and courageous battle against cancer. He will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 47 years, Abbye Spruill Scott; his children, Joey Scott and Gayle Fogarty (B.A.); his siblings, Billy Scott and Diane McKenzie; and his beloved grandchildren, Jackson and Griffin Fogarty. He will also be remembered by his extended family and many dear friends. Joe was a retired building inspector. He was a Free Mason, Scottish Rite and a Shriner, a member of V.F.W. Post 5660 and the Fairhope Elks Lodge No. 1879. Joe loved his country and was very proud of his service in the United States Navy. His final duty station was on the island of Diego Garcia. He was an avid Auburn fan and spent many happy hours watching his Tigers play. A private, family celebration will be held at a later time.
