Joseph William DiOrio

FOLEY, ALABAMAJoseph William DiOrio, age 77, a native of New York and a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.He retired from the Army National Guard of Vermont as a Master Sargent where he was an instructor at the Mountain Warfare School. Mr. DiOrio was also a retired Corrections Officer for the State of New York, member of Knights of Columbus, long-time parishioner of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion.Mr. DiOrio is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol DiOrio of Foley, children Leah DiOrio (Steven Marti) of Kansas City, Missouri and Joseph William DiOrio II (Melissa) of Foley, and grandsons Joey DiOrio, Anthony Kendrick and Dominic DiOrio, including many other relatives and friends.Memorial service will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Foley on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.The family will receive friends one hour prior to memorial service.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
