Jonas Lyborg

Jonas Lyborg, 69 of Fairhope, Alabama, succumbed to cancer at the comfort of his home surrounded by family on October 6th, 2018. Born March 29th, 1949 in Borås, Sweden, he was the son of the late Sigvard and Dagny (Lind) Lyborg. He graduated from Chalmers University, Kvarnberget in 1971.Jonas migrated to U.S.A. in 2001 and was a respected Principal Maritime Surveyor and Owner of JL Maritime Services, Inc. Jonas was also the manager of NSB-USA LLC. and supporting IMC LLC., where he conducted H&M and P&I surveys throughout the Americas.A special thank you to the staff of Alabama Hospice Care for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time. Jonas is survived by his wife, Ingrid; daughter, Jessica Alba; sons, Mats Lyborg and Michael Lyborg; grandchildren, Marcus ter Schure, Oscar ter Schure, and Cyris Alba; brother, Lars Lyborg; sister, Gerd Nilsson; and numerous cousins and friends worldwide. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at Silverhill Covenant Church (16094 AL-104, Silverhill, AL 36576) at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jesse Adams officiating. A reception will be held adjacent to the church immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Canary Foundation to support early cancer detection research.
