John Dell Taylor

John Dell Taylor, 90, Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Friday, August 13, 2021. He attended Cottonwood High School and went on to join the Navy where he served during the Korean War. He returned to Dothan, AL where he spent the majority of his life. He was a man of faith, a family man, an avid outdoorsman, an Alabama football fan, and had a love for life. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Levettie Taylor, sister Evelyn Granger, and brother Robert Taylor. He is survived by a daughter Stephanie Smitherman, son-in-law Clay Smitherman, grandson Owen Smitherman. Son Tony Taylor, daughter-in-law Holly Taylor, grandchildren Leslie, Coty, and Rusty Taylor. Son Kim Taylor. Stepson John Miller. A brother Ray Taylor, sister-in-law Annie Will Taylor. Many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, cousins, and other family and friends. The family will receive friends on August 19th from 12:30-1:00 PM with funeral services to begin at 1:00 PM. A graveside ceremony will follow at 2:30 PM at the Veterans Cemetery in Spanish Ft.
