John Stroman Hayden, age 62, a resident of Orange Beach, Alabama, passed away March 22, 2022.
John was a native of Jacksonville, FL, and resided in Orange Beach, AL since he retired in 2016. John grew up in Mobile, AL, and graduated from Davidson High School. John was a 1982 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He worked for International Paper of 24 years in Bastrop, LA, Mobile, AL, Pascagoula, MS, Memphis, TN, and Georgetown, SC. He then managed operations for Xerium in Oxford, AL, ThyssenKrupp Stainless/Steel in Calvert, AL, and Tenaris in Bay City, TX. The remainder of his short life was spent fishing, enjoying friends, family, and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Jean Hayden of Mobile, AL.
John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Weed Hayden, along with two sons, Benjamin John (Kelly) Hayden and Marshall Weed (Kendall) Hayden, and three grandchildren, Hadley, Myer, and Hugh. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Paula H. Barbee, Julie H. Dunning, both of Mobile, and Cathy H. Mills of Birmingham, AL, along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Island Church in Orange Beach. The family will receive friends an hour before service.
