John Forrest Green October 31, 1942 - September 18, 2021 John Forrest Green, 78, died Saturday, Sept 18, 2021 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. He leaves his ex-wife, Sharon Wyatt Vines, his oldest son, Jeffrey Forrest Green and wife Sophia Green, and youngest son Matthew Corey Green and wife Juleigh Little Green. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Caroline Elizabeth Green and Margaret Ann Green, as well as his sister-in-law, Peggy Green; nieces, great-nieces and cousins He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, one of two children to the late Marvin Lawson Green Frances Mosley Green. He had one brother, the late Dr. Robert L. Green. He was raised mostly in Birmingham, Alabama. John attended Harding University and later graduated cum laude from Birmingham Southern College He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1961-1965. His enlistment was a surprise to his mother as she was congratulated by John’s preacher who he had used as a reference on his application. While on leave, he secretly married the mother of his two children, Sharon Wyatt. Upon his honorable discharge in August 1965, he worked primarily in sales. Later he worked for Peat, Marwick and Mitchell as a Senior Consultant and Southern Company Services as a Systems Analyst. After taking early retirement, he moved to South Alabama. He co-founded JRH Employee Leasing and later was co-owner and President of Premier Collision. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed golf, Alabama football and NASCAR. He recently purchased the dream car of his youth, a 64 GTO, which he planned to show on the classic car circuit. He will be interred at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort where his brother, also a veteran, is also interred. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions in memory of John F. Green to the Wounded Warrior Project.
