SILVERHILL, ALJohn Eugene Fidler, age 90, a lifelong resident of Silverhill, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017.Mr. Fidler was a veteran of WWII. He served in the Army as a military policeman and saw duty in Japan. He was baptized into Christ and was a member of the Fairhope Church of Christ. he read his Bible daily for as long as he was able. Mr. Fidler worked as a boilermaker at ADDSCO for twenty five years. After retiring from ADDSCO, he became a master plumber and worked for another 25 years or more. He then retired to enjoy life with his wife and children.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Alabama football. He played the saxophone and even had the chance to play a few dance jobs with different bands. But he mostly enjoyed his music just for fun. He played at his son's (Jeff's) wedding. He will be sorely missed by family, relatives, and friends.John was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Elsie N. Fidler; wife, Billie Jean Fidler; son, Edward J. Fidler; daughter, Cynthia L. Brown; brother, Romie Fidler; and sister, Florence F. Roberts.He is survived by his son, Jeffrey E. Fidler (Tina) of Silverhill; daughters, Cheryl Smith (Mitch) of LaPlace, LA, Maxine Coats of Malbis, Becky Bankester (Charlie) of Spanish Fort; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 12 great, great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Fidler (Faye) of Silverhill; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held at Silverhill Cemetery on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.ARRANGEMENTS BYWOLFE-BAYVIEWFUNERAL HOMES& CREMATORY, INC.19698 GREENO ROADFAIRHOPE, AL 36532(251)990-7775
