John Dennis DeJonge, Jr. was born on September 26, 1984, in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on March 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
From a young age, John showed a remarkable aptitude for construction, beginning a career that he dedicated himself to as soon as he was able to hold a screwdriver. His intelligence and strong work ethic made him not only a reliable worker but also a well-respected member of the construction community. Throughout his life, he was known for his exceptional ability to solve problems and tackle challenges with a calm and thoughtful demeanor.
John's warm-hearted nature made him a constant source of support for his family and friends. He took great joy in spending time with his loved ones, and there was no question that he loved his family dearly. He had a special bond with his children, Lily Rose DeJonge and John Paul DeJonge, who were the light of his life. John's kindness extended beyond his immediate family to encompass his parents, John Dennis DeJonge and Jennifer Lynn DeJonge, his beloved sister, Amanda (Shea) Michael, as well as his brothers, David (Hollie) DeJonge and Paul (Alysia) DeJonge. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
In his leisure time, John enjoyed delving into his passion for collecting coins. He could often be found spending hours sorting through his collection, which not only brought him joy but also reflected his meticulous nature and attention to detail.
He passed away in Spanish Fort, Alabama, but his memory will undoubtedly resonate throughout the lives of those who loved him. John Dennis DeJonge, Jr. will be remembered as a kind, loving individual who was always someone you could count on, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A graveside service will be held at Jubilee Memorial Gardens on Monday March 10th, 2025 at 11:00am.
A celebration of life is planned for March 22, 2025. It will be held at Revive church in Mobile, AL at 3 in the afternoon.
