John Crawford, Jr.

John J. Crawford, Jr., 68, a resident of Mobile passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Margaret as well as his parents, John Joseph and Jeanette Crawford. John is survived by his loving wife Mary Savell Crawford; son, John “Jody” (Sonia) Crawford, III; daughters, Heather (Kenny) Wilson and Holly (Terry) Stewart; grandchildren, Haley Thomas, Emily Thomas, Anthony Thomas, Elijah Crawford, Jade Stewart, Lane Stewart, Cody Wilson, Crystal Wilson and Penny Wilson; great-grandchild, Jensen Kelly; many other relatives and friends. John was retired a year and a half from Austal Shipyard. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandson, fishing, forging beautiful knives, spending time singing and playing his guitar. You would never hear John speak badly about anyone and if you had a minute he could tell you a few stories. John was a gentle giant with a big heart that will be missed by many family, friends and loved ones. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00pm at Fox Landing Howell’s Ferry Road at Big Creek Lake.
