John Richard Coleman

John Richard Coleman, 79, was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on October 11, 1941 to his parents Jack Richard Coleman & Thelma Smith Coleman and passed away June 27, 2021 in Foley, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lee Alexander Coleman; children, John Ronald (Ron) Coleman, Jeffrey Richard (Rick) Coleman and Shari Jolyn (Eugene)Ballinger; granddaughters, Emily Elizabeth Garner-Ballinger and Robin Beth (Nick) Giancola; great-grandchildren, Austin Coleman and Addison Jackson. John served 8 years in the Air Force and was part of the first advisory group deployed to Vietnam from Clark AFB in the Philippines in 1960. He was also stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska & Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio. He was a volunteer fireman and EMT in Fairfield, Ohio and later a firefighting instructor at University of Cincinnati. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Pine Street in Foley on Saturday, July 10th at 11:00 AM with a reception and visitation immediately following the service.
