John David Champion, Jr.

John David Champion Jr, age 82, of Silverhill, AL, formerly of Selma, AL, died Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was a kind and giving man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, John David Champion, Sr. and Nellie Mae Harvell Champion; sister, Vera Mae Kirk; son-in-law, Nick Marter; and his great-granddaughter, Lauren McKenzie Wright. He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Avritt Champion; his sister, Emma (Jim) Massey; his daughter, Sherry Marter; his son, Derek (Celeste) Champion; his grandchildren: Jessica Moseley (Cory Lockhart), Tabitha Wright, Jacob (Janet) Moseley, John (Scarlett) Moseley, Noah & Jonah Champion; great-grandchildren: Hayden & Reese Moseley, Cohen & Ledger Moseley, Trotter Hasty ; and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
