John Edward Bousson, Jr., fondly known as Jeb, passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 88 in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Born on March 3, 1937, in Mobile, Alabama, he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a profound commitment to his family, faith, and country.
Jeb's professional journey spanned an impressive 45 years at the Mobile Infirmary Health System, where he made significant contributions in the Clinical Laboratory. His educational background began at McGill Institute and culminated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Springhill College. He also proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army, fulfilling the role of Clinical Laboratory Officer during his service.
Jeb was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 59 years, Evelyn Bousson, and the couple shared a life rich in treasured memories. He was a loving father to his daughter, Denise Bousson Keyser, and son, John E. Bousson, III "Trey." His family continued to grow with the addition of his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Wilson Bousson, and his four cherished grandchildren: Hunter Keyser, Gracie Keyser, John E. Bousson, IV "Jack," and Caroline Bousson. He took great pride in the loving bonds of his family, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Among his many passions, Jeb held a deep affection for the game of tennis. He played throughout his high school and college years, achieving great success, including numerous tournament victories with USTA. His enthusiasm for the sport also led him to volunteer as the head tennis coach at McGill-Toolen High School for four years, where he shared his knowledge and strategic insights with aspiring young athletes.
Jeb was cherished for his wonderful personality and great sense of humor. Those who knew him were naturally drawn to his warmth and kindness. He found joy in spending vacations at the beach with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His life was characterized by a steadfast devotion to his family, God, and country, leaving a profound legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path. He joins his parents, John E. Bousson, Sr. and Mary Kathleen Bousson, in eternal peace.
John Edward Bousson, Jr.'s kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever be embraced in the hearts of his family and friends.
The mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 at 12:00pm, located at Christ the King Catholic Church, Daphne. Friends are welcome to the visitation an hour before the service. A graveside service will be held at Mobile Catholic Cemetery following the service.
