Jimmie Sue Rice, 83, a native of Greenville, AL and a resident of Belforest, AL, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Sue was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, a skillful seamstress and had a great passion for quilting. When it came to living near the water, she rarely passed the opportunity to go fishing, soft shelling or just a boat ride. Her stovetop was always filled with southern fried okra and the Thanksgiving table was not complete without her cornbread dressing. She had a unique gift for dreaming of fish; which meant someone in the family would be blessing her with another grandbaby. To the very end, she shared a personal message about living a good life with each of her immediate family members. Surviving are her four sons, Charles Anthony Rice (Jackie), Joseph Barry Rice (Fran), John Daniel Rice, Scott Armstrong Rice (Leigh); one daughter, Marcia Rice Stabler (Stan); ten grandchildren; Jeremy Rice, Hillirie Lindquist, Ashley Lieb, Lee Day, Zachary Rice, Lindsay Hawley, Shannon Bane, Joey Stabler, Jacob Rice and Emilie Rice and twenty-four great-grandchildren; one brother, Rayford Armstrong; three sisters, Annie Merle Allison; Frances Waldrup; Pearl Jansen; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hillary Armstrong and Margie Armstrong Quinley; brother Leon Armstrong. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral, Fairhope, Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 2:00pm. Brother Grant Barber will officiate the celebration of life.
