Jerald Douglas Bates, a resident of Elberta, AL, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019. He was an Electrician for over 40 years in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dot Bates and father in law; Gene Jaye. He is survived by his wife Carol Gene Bates of Elberta, AL, children; Jerry (Beth) Bates of Mobile, Adam (Carlie) Bates of Robertsdale, Owen (Megan) Bates of Elberta, grandchildren; Collin, Ceana, Madison, Alton and Carter, brother; Michael (Janelle) Bates of Foley, nephew; Justin (Crystal) Bates of Robertsdale, great nephew; Bryson, mother in law; Carolyn Jaye (Lonnie) Miller, brothers in laws; Glenn (Amy) Jaye, David (Christina) Jaye, Jason Jaye, sister in law; Angela (John) Hackett, mother of his son: Linda (Tom) Landry, and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10:00am at Wallace Cemetery.
