Jennifer Lawson Norris, 70, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Jennifer, the daughter of Bill and Barbara Lawson, was born and raised in Colombia, Tennessee. She attended Columbia Central High School and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (B.S. Education, 1975.) She worked as a primary school teacher in Tennessee before moving to Fairhope, Alabama and becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.
Jennifer loved engaging in the Fairhope community and could often be found volunteering at the front desk in Fairhope public schools, cooking meals for the school sports teams, or parading downtown with the Maids of Jubilee, always with an indelible smile. She adored schnauzers, football, puzzles, the beach, and most of all, her family.
Her boundless and colorful creativity took shape in bows, costumes, Mardi Gras ball decorations, and later, a passion for jewelry making and design. Through her own small business, J.No’s Jewels, she made thousands of unique pieces of jewelry designed to make the wearer feel special.
She is survived by her three loving sons, Thomas and his wife Ashley, Frank, and John; her two grandchildren, Harrison and Barrett; and her brother Robert and his wife Elaine and their family.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, September 1, at Henry George Park in Fairhope, Alabama from 6:45 - 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those so inclined to consider a gift in her honor to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, (www.cmtausa.org (http://www.cmtausa.org/)) an organization researching cures for the rare genetic disorder that she battled her whole life.
