James Thomas "Jim" Patterson

James Thomas Patterson, 85, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024.

He was a 20 year U.S. Navy veteran. After he retired he worked at Rohr as an Assembler and a Repair Mechanic, and again retired from there. After Rohr he opened PATCO, an elevator installation company. He enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering in his shop, fishing and hunting. He was also a huge supporter of Foley High School Band.

Preceding him in death are; his mother Norma and father William, his brother William Craig and sister Margaret Ann, and his sons Vincent Todd Patterson and Scott Dale Patterson

James is survived by his wife of 64 years Elizabeth Ann Patterson; son, James (Donnette) Patterson; daughter, Victoria Lynne Shire, daughte-in-law Dawn Patterson, all of Foley, Alabama, granddaughters Ashley Patterson, Sarah Shire, Stephanie (Robert) Garris; grandsons, James (Jessica) Patterson, Vincent Todd Patterson Jr., Eddie (Caitlin) Patterson, Brandon (Courtney) Taylor and Levi, Lyric and Lucian Metz; and great grandchildren, Cole Patterson, Britton and Cora Garris, Garrett and Preston Taylor, and Brooklyn and Jackson Harris; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of James’s Life will be held at Lillian First Baptist Church in Lillian, Alabama on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00am.

The family will receive friends one hour prior.

To honor James’s memory, donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
