James Long, a longtime resident of Fairhope passed away at his home August 29, 2022. James was born in Fort Payne, Alabama and graduated from Gadsden High School. He attended technical schools in Lexington, Kentucky and worked in the telecommunications industry throughout the southeastern United States for over forty years. James served his adopted community as a member of the Baldwin County Planning Commission. As a young man, James enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Lookout Mountain area of north Alabama and on the Gulf Coast after moving to Fairhope. He is survived by Lynn Long, his wife of forty-nine years; sons Hunter, Shon, and Micah; daughters Kimberly Welch of Panama City, Florida and Lisa Holt of Foley; grandchildren, Blake and Zachary Taylor, Tyler and Kylee Hall; and great grandchildren, Hudson and Ryan.
