James (Jim) Anderson McCrory

James (Jim) Anderson McCrory Sr., age 86, a resident of Foley, Alabama, was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert A. McCrory.

James is fondly remembered in life by his wife of 62 years, Judith “Judy” Barnes McCrory, his three children, James “Andy” of Laurel, MS, Norman “Dan” (Sandra) of Fairhope, AL and Cynthia (Todd) White of Orange Beach, AL, his sister Sadie (Bill) Barnes, as well as his five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, his many wonderful friends, and his dogs Buddy and Mogee.

He was born April 6, 1937, in Lake, Mississippi, to the late James D. and Opal Ware McCrory. He graduated from University Military School in Mobile, AL, in 1956 and attended Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg, MS, where he studied Banking and Finance.

James will be remembered as a loving husband, father and “Pops”. He loved to spend time with his wife, Judy and his family. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and was always willing to help others.

His family would like to extend a very special thank you to Nurse Elizabeth with Centerwell, Joddee with Gentiva Hospice, Jennifer with South Baldwin ER and Bonnie at Robertsdale Rehab for their exceptional care. They would also like to thank all their friends and family for their love and support.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, 19250 S. Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL 36532.
