James (Jim) Townend Aman

James Townend Aman (Jim), 88, of Fairhope, AL, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 14, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, AL. A Military Committal Service will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL. Jim was born in Decatur, IL on January 26, 1929. He was married to his wife, Donna, on May 3, 1952; they were married 65 years. Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; son, David and wife Linda; son, Stephen and wife Sherry; three grandchildren, Colleen (Joshua) Boehm, Madison Aman and Miranda Aman; two great grandchildren, Shannon and Evelien Boehm and his brother, Joseph Aman and wife Loretta and their children and grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Aman and his mother, Helen (Townend) Aman. Jim served in the Army during the Korean War. Jim worked as a District Manager for Illinois Power Company for over 35 years. He was active in many civic organizations and held leadership positions in Rotary, Young Men’s Club and Personnel Council. He enjoyed golfing and wood working.
