James "Floyd" Hamil

James Floyd Hamil, age 84, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith Hamil; twin brother, William Boyd Hamil; sister, Dean Hamil Colley; parents, Johnny Dee Hamil and Ressie Mackey Hamil. Floyd is survived by his children, Jason Keith Hamil (Lori) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Anthony Kelvin Hamil of Fairhope, Alabama; sister, Doris Hamil McCullers of Dadeville, Alabama; grandchildren, Weston Hamil (Sloan), and Leah Ashton Hamil, along with many other loving relatives and friends. Floyd graduated from Lineville, Alabama high school and the Graduate School of Consumer Banking at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Floyd had a 60-year career in banking in Anniston and Oxford. He was the founder of Providence Mortgage, LLC in Anniston. Floyd’s motto: Always Help People. Floyd was an active member of Anniston Kiwanis Club, including raising donations to the annual pancake breakfast. He was also an active member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston.
