James Nolan Akins, Jr., a resident of Weeks Bay, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 70.
He was a graduate of Fairhope High School in 1972 and then went on to further his career at the University of Alabama in 1991. He worked at the Corp of Engineers and retired from the State Department.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Nolan Akins, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Alma Hanson Akins; sister, Alice Akins Hearnsberger (Byron), all of Fairhope; brother, Jack Lee Akins of Coffeeville, AL; great nephew, Brendan Hearnsberger and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service to honor James’ life will be held at a later date.
