Jacquelyn Stapleton Steiger

Jacquelyn Stapleton Steiger, born July 9, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama, and a lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Monday, March 11, 2019 in Fairhope. She was a 1951 graduate of Murphy High School, and until recently, continued to attend her Fairhope High School class reunions with her old classmates who she was “supposed to have graduated with”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack D. Stapleton and Gladys Hicks Burke, and is survived by her son, Bruce Braxton Stone, her daughter, Martine Elizabeth Steiger, and her two grandsons, Bruce Braxton Stone, Jr. and Tyler Jack Williams. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, Alabama, with visitation graveside from 10:15 a.m. until service time. The Rev. De Freeman and The Rev. Doctor Mary Jane Ledgerwood, St. James Episcopal Church, Fairhope, Alabama officiating.
