J. E. "Jack" Elwin McKleroy

J. E. “Jack” McKleroy, age 91, a native of Blountsville, AL and a resident of Daphne, passed away, Saturday, July 14, 2018. Jack was born January 2, 1927.  He was the son of the late Ruby Green McKleroy, he had twelve brothers and sisters.  Jack was married to the late Vivian Hipp McKleroy. He was chief engineer for Lykes Brothers Steamship Company, he retired in 1985 after 21 Years of service. Jack is survived by a daughter, Jackie Davis of Charleston, SC., a large extended family and blessed with caring neighbors and friends. A man who believed in himself, always did his best, valued education, treated everyone the same and followed his dreams, but always with a backup plan. Jack was an inspiration and will be missed. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date in North Alabama. In lieu of flowers, those wishing, may make a donation to their favorite charity so that others may follow their dreams.
