Iva Thorpe, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and spouse, passed away at her home peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 85 in Baldwin County, Alabama–surrounded by her loving family.
Iva always greeted those around her with a kind smile and a warm embrace. She loved her family, and would often be moved to tears–just seeing them.

Iva was a homemaker and found joy intending to her garden and animals, knitting blankets for all the grandchildren, and being active in church. She also had a special love for her little yorkie–Aboo.

Iva read her bible daily and offered words of encouragement and wisdom to those around her. One of her favorite passages was Psalms 23, and she gravitated to it as her health declined. The family would like to share it with you for your reading as we close:
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
