Mr. Hugh Lee “Hugo” Johnston, a resident of Lillian, AL, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 83.
He loved visiting with friends and neighbors and taking care of his home and yard.
Hugo is survived by his loving wife Rachael Price Johnston of Lillian, AL. of 45 years; his stepdaughter, Karen (Troy) Gresham of Valley, AL; stepson, Jerry Shelnutt of Foley, AL; his sisters, Wylene Buchanan of GA, and Shirley (Johnny) Bruce of GA; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Haley) Conaway, Amanda (Chris) Woodson; six great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
Hugo is preceded in death by his sister, Linda (Pete) Whittington of GA; his brothers, Edward Johnston of GA, Sonny (Joyce) Johnston of AL.
A Celebration of Hugo’s life will be held at The Episcopal Church of The Advent on May 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to The Episcopal Church of The Advent 12099 Co Rd 99 Lillian, AL. 36549.
