Harold Brent Smith, Jr.

 Harold Brent Smith Jr. December 4, 1942 – November 23, 2018 Brent passed on Friday November 23 in Fairhope, Alabama.  He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Gertrude Smith.  He is survived by his wife Deborah Patrick Smith, three sisters, Marcia (Robert) Hall, Gloria (Ray) Halverson, Patricia Harris, two daughters Kelly (Greg) Hammock, Richmond, VA and Cindy (Paul) Willis, Kansas City, KS. Brent was born in Mobile, Alabama and grew up in Toulminville, Alabama.  He attended Gorgas School, Toulminville Junior High School, and graduated from Murphy High School in 1961. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, Brent was employed for 37.5 years at CSX Rail Road (Old L&N RR).  Retiring in 2002, he went on to enjoy life on the upper end of Bay Minette Creek with his wife and dogs Ruby, Lilly and Beamer. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to Durant Chapel Baptist Church - Brotherhood Projects Fund at 9551 Co Rd 138, Bay Minette, AL 36507.  Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery 34904 Alabama Highway 225 Spanish Fort, AL 36577.
