KNOX FOLEY, ALABAMA Greg was born in 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Delbert Ray Knox and Nelle Elizabeth Lewis Knox Cope and raised at Wildwood Lake in Raytown, Mo. He went to Raytown High School and attended Baker University where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) in 1975 and retired in 2003 and was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America In 1976 he married his wife JoAnne and they had a son, Justin and daughter, Jennifer who were the light of his life! Throughout the years he was proud to also be the “father” to several Exchange Students from many countries in the world. He was the extremely proud grandfather to his first two grandsons, Dalton and Xander and then blessed with a bonus grandson, Logan. He and his wife moved to the Gulf Coast in 2004 where he could “wear short pants year round!!” He then had a few other jobs including probation officer for JCS for 10 years and inmate supervisor for a County work crew. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and also VFW. He loved to sing and did so in the choir at the Methodist church on and off and also in an a capella men’s group.He was an avid gardener and took pride in his many beautiful roses. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Edward D Cope, his sister Linda Sue Knox Lohmeier Denk and brother in law Marion “Buzz” Lohmeier. Survivors include his wife Barbara JoAnne Butler Knox of the home, son Justin Lewis Knox and wife Lynsee of Lee’s Summit, Mo and Jennifer Morgan Knox Henderson and husband Howard of Petal, Mississippi Also 3 grandsons Dalton James Lowery who is deployed with the United States Army in the Middle East, Alexander Cole Lowery Knox of Petal, Mississippi and Logan Henderson of Orlando Florida, A brother in law Michael Butler of Orrick, Missouri and Sister in law Melinda Butler Freel of Richmond, Missouri And numerous nieces and nephews. Greg was a man who loved to laugh and throughout his struggles in life at times he always managed to find the humor in almost all situations.
