Gladys Yvonne Smith

Gladys Yvonne Smith of Daphne, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Yvonne was born November 7, 1927 in Red Level, Alabama to Arthur and Eunice Chesser. She was the third of nine children. She married William E. Jones in 1948, and they had three children together. They were married until his death in 1988. Yvonne retired as District Manager of Sunshine Junior Foods Stores of Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida, after 25 years of dedicated service. She was married to Robert Smith in 2004, until his death in 2009. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort for many years. She touched many lives with her love and humor.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Greil Chesser, Morris Chesser, Bob Chesser, Carol Chesser, and Ken Chesser; sisters, Wilma Dean McIntyre and Betty Joyce Rhyne.

She is survived by her three children, Barbara Williams (Don), Joseph Jones (Susan), and Randy Jones (Ashley); 6 grandchildren, Christopher Howell, Robin Black, Elliot Jones, Mathew Jones, Emily Jones Trawick, and Melissa Jones Williams; and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Gugliotta Bassett (Jerry), Lynda Chesser. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Wolfe-Bayview funeral Home in Daphne Alabama. Visitation will be at 1 o’clock and the service will begin at 2 o’clock.
