George Moreland, Jr.

George H. Moreland, Jr., 90, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He proudly served his country for over 20 years. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 2, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, and retired from the United States Army on June 30, 1971, in Fort Baker, California. His service took him to posts in West Germany, Montana, Hawaii, and Vietnam. He then served another 20 years in the United States Civil Service with his beautiful wife Barbara of 60 years by his side. They raised two children, a son J.C. and a daughter April. George loved being Opa to his granddaughter Ashley. There are numerous nieces and nephews who adored him and will miss him greatly. George was best known for his wit and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes to nine National Championships. George H. Moreland, Jr. Gone but Never Forgotten
