George Franco Lopez

George Franco Lopez, 73, of Foley Alabama, passed away on October 21,2023. He was born on February 22,1950, in San Antonio, Texas to Margarito Lopez and Rosie Baker. George was preceded in death by his parent, as well as his sister Rosalinda Lopez and brother, Larry Lopez. George was a dedicated welder throughout his career. He took great pride in his work and was known for his skills and craftsmanship. His hard work and dedication were admired by his collogues and loved ones. He moved to Alabama in 1975, he was also an avid mechanic and made sure that everyone items were fixed. Outside of work, George had a passion for his pets, especially Keke and Chica. He found joy in their companionship and cherished the unconditional love the provided. Additionally, George had a strong connection with his church family at the Family Ministries Center. His faith played an important role in his life, and he found solace and support within his religious community. George loved to stay in touch with his children and grandchildren they all meant the world to him. Everyone that met George knew he had an infectious smile and was a jokester. He had a joke for everything. You knew he really loved you when he gave you a nickname, for example baby Ann, daddy, fat boy, dynasty, Casper, and munchkin. If you ever looked for George on a Sat. or Sunday, he was either at church or sitting in front of his TV, watching his favorite football team Texas A&M. George is survived by his children daughter, Debbie Ann Lara her son Angel from Houston, Texas, his son Sabino (Diana) Perez his daughter Brissa, and two sons, Aaron and Brandon from Houston, Texas, He is also survived by his sisters Connie (David) Burgett of Foley, Alabama, Christina Sanchez of Plant City, Florida, and his brother Johnny Lopez of Foley, Alabama. The funeral services to honor George’s life will be held at Wolfe Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Alabama on Friday October 27,2023. Family visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00 followed by visitation for friends from 2:00-3:00. The funeral services will begin at 3:00.
