George Eugene Bryant, 87 of Daphne, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on February 23, 2020. He was born in Stockton, Alabama on April 23, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents Bertram F. Bryant, Sr. and Geneva Hobbs Bryant, as well as his brother Bertram F. Bryant, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Turberville Bryant of Daphne; son Darryl W. Bryant (Tootsie) of Daphne; daughter Carol Bryant Persson (John) of Daphne; grandsons Bryant C. Cashia of Nashville, TN and John F. Bryant of Daphne. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute in 1954 where he was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. The brotherhood which was formed in this fraternity lasted a lifetime, as did his love for Auburn University. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He was then stationed at the United States Military Academy at West Point where he was an artillery instructor. He was a founding Board member of Bayside Academy. He was a 30 year qualifying and Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Top One Percent producer at Lincoln National Life. He was an active member of Daphne United Methodist Church where he served in various capacities. As an active member of Lakewood Golf Club for 40 years, he enjoyed the friendly competition and fellowship of golf. He served on the Board of Regions Bank, North Baldwin County for more than 20 years. There will be a visitation for friends and family at Bayside Academy, Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Administration Building. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Prodisee Pantry or your favorite charity.
