Frederick Irvin Boone

Frederick Irvin Boone April 19, 1944 – August 1, 2021 Born in Gulfport, MS, Rick was the first of five children born to Lester and Joy Boone. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Fairhope, AL where Rick was raised. He graduated from University Military School in 1961; and then went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Rick married Pamela Sue Smith of Chattanooga, TN in 1966 and began his engineering career with Chicago Bridge in Birmingham, AL. The couple soon moved back to Rick’s hometown of Fairhope so Rick could work with his father at Fairhope Paving Company. During his tenure at Fairhope Paving Company, he was instrumental in the development of many Baldwin County residential subdivisions, as well as city and commercial infrastructure. During their 55-year marriage, Rick and Pam raised their three children - Amanda, Randy and Brian. Ever the adventure lovers, Rick and Pam enjoyed spending time with the Port City Corvette Club, the Cushman Motor Scooter Club of America. They often traveled all over the country, as well as taking cruises with friends and family. Rick is survived by his daughter Amanda Major (Carl) and their children Madison, Carson and Grayson; his son, Randy Boone (Regina) and their children Meredith and Chase; Brian Boone (Nicole) and their son Griffin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the Wolf-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 PM at the Colony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local chapter of AL-ANON Family Group or the charity of your choice.
