Fred Ellis Long

Fred Ellis Long, of Fairhope, AL, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2020. Fred was many things over the course of his 90 years—a loving father and grandfather, a war veteran, an Alabama football devotee, a Louis L'Amour scholar, a faithful member of the South River Park Church of God—but above all else he was an adoring husband to Flora. He was a quiet, honest man who put his family first and told a good joke. Fred will be laid to rest beside his wife Flora and his daughter Stephanie. He is survived by his son Michael Long, his grandsons Justin Givens and Cooper Long, and his great-granddaughters Flora June Givens and Rose Givens. Services and interment will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of sending flowers, please make a donation to the National Down Syndrome Society.
